Sargent

Adopted

and residing at the wonderful Watermill Estate Sanctuary

"Sargent" is an 18 year old 17 hand Percheron/Standardbred gelding who was reportedly used in a childrens summer camp for larger kids, for years.  He had a lengthy rehabilitation period, but is sound and happy now as a pleasure horse who lives in a fabulous 15 acre farm with meadows and friends. More photos coming showing his makeover, hahaha!

Update: Sargent is happy and healthy after quite a long rehabilitation period.  Sometimes the trauma, mental and physical just cannot be overcome in a month.  Sargent has gained a new independence and is able to graze quite by himself.  He even appointed himself guide to Freddy and took great pride in showing him around the farm.  Quite a feat for this once very shy and nervous horse.  His forever home on the Watermill Estate Sanctuary has been instrumental in his healing.  Though he still battles hoof issues in the once abcessed foot (it looked like it was shot with a cannon), he is comfortable and very appreciative.
