Gem
Adopted!

"Gem" is a registered Quarab.
1/2 Arabian and 1/2 Quarter horse. She was found standing at a
feedlot waiting for the slaughter truck. He destiny was
intact as she managed to squeeze on our trailer to safety and come 3000
miles right into the arms of a generous foster care situation. Her
foster care mommy fell in love right off. She is adopted now and the
happiest little girl you could know. Her new name is Jemma. Her
mystery unravelled as her new mommy went about researching her past and
this is what she wrote:
I wrote to owner and breeder on Jemma's papers and
received a phone call from him 2 nights ago....
Says he had her for the past 14 years and sold her
to a "trainer" in August as he had too many "critters" and only enough
room to have 6 in his trailer. He lives in the mountains or Oregon,
says she hasn't been ridden in about 4 years but has the sweetest
disposition (obvious to me). He bred her once, and she is the mother to
a mule! He couldn't stop talking about the mule. But he also owned her
mother, said they were great horses, not really sure if he knew who he
was selling to or not, but he said he was very happy/surprised to get my
letter.
This is yet another reason horses are in need of contractual agreements
so their whereabouts can be watched.
