Freddily
Bear
Resident
Sponsor me please! No one has EVER helped this horse in any way and he has
been here over a year.

Freddily Bear is a thoroughbred off the track a million years ago.
He was also a winning show horse and a wonderful best friend to a lady who
loved horses more than anything in the world. He a 1982 gelding with
COPD.
Freddy
lost his beloved owner when she fell out of a hay loft, was hospitalized
for months, recovered somewhat and then tragically lost the fight to live
almost a year later. He came to us bewildered and feeling very
alone.
Freddily Bear, as we call him is a fine gentleman. I had to hand
feed him a few of his meals and just keep telling him that he is okay now
and he is understood. Being a thoroughbred, he is particularly
sensitive. Add in the fact that he is 27 and knows more than many
humans do at that age and you will understand his concern. Horses
are very aware of what is going on. Aware when they are loved.
Aware when they are discarded. Aware when their human soul mate
dies.

Freddy Bear, as he has been
dubbed by adoring care givers, is a 28 yr old thoroughbred gelding. His
career spans over a quarter of a century beginning at the racetrack,
showing through the hunters and jumpers and ending as a personal pet and
riding companion of a wonderful woman. His future was set until the day
of the horrible tragedy. He watched as his owner tripped and fell out of
the hay loft while trying to get him his breakfast. She had made no
provisions for Freddy in a will, so he was brought into Amaryllis to try
and find support or a home. Neither has been found in over a year.
Here is Freddy's Personals ad!
Handsome, kind mature thoroughbred
gentleman seeks sensitive, mature companion for long walks and quiet
philosophical talks. Healthy, adjusted, sound of mind and body, but
lonely after being widowed. Please contact Amaryllis and ask about making
a date with me! I would love to talk about the old days when life was
grand and I was winning races on the track! I am available to adopt on
the sanctuary I currently reside at in Bridgehampton or I may move to your
farm if my special requirements can be met! My Amaryllis family is on
hand to assist me every step of my life, they just need a little feed
money! I breath absolutely fine now that I am turned out 24hrs a day
and my legs NEVER swell anymore either!
