He was
blessed with owners who cared and searched and did not give up until they
found Amaryllis when he was injured on the track.
Dan is in rehabilitation now.
His very best friend in the world is Arapaho.
Dan
needs sponsorship............please help this special horse!
"Little Pie" was his race name and
below is a photo of his mom in the winner's circle:
He raced 7 times
over the course of a year. He placed well until he suffered some
bone chips in his knees. Four months after the injury he remains
swollen. He is sound, however. He has undergone 2 sessions of
ULCER GUARD and one of QUITT. He is no longer on QUIESSENCE, but is
going on Cosequin. Donations for this very, very special little baby
boy's medical needs are appreciated!
DanAngel
has been promised a whole year to recover here without worry. In the
summer of 2010 we will address the knee chips issue.
Danny is an extreme favorite among all
children and he loves them back
Update:
September 09 DanAngel has been moved to the BH Sanctuary and is currently
undergoing a month treatment of GastroGuard for his ulcers.
Hopefully being on grass with Bay at his side and this new medicine will
give him the boost he needs. Sweet, sweet little boy.
Update
January 2010
Danny has
been a difficult rehab. Colic episodes, ulcer issues and then a hoof
abscess. He is the sweetest little boy and excited about everything
that happens to him. He LOVES his Amaryllis family, both 2 and 4
legged. He completed his second entire month of Gastro Guard back at
the main barn where he is happiest with his family. Thank you KIM H.
for buying him the awesome Rambo Wug! He is striking handsome now as
he laughs and plays with Arapaho and his new playmates Sage and Pegasus.
Update
July 2010 Above photo is Trooper with Danny. Trooper has
proven himself essential to Danny's healing. He is gaining weight
steady and off grain for the summer. He continues to crib and always
will, but isn't nearly as nervous as he was last year. He is ready
to think about his very own person, but his living arrangements MUST
mirror what we have working for him now. No stall ever. 24 hr
turnout. A buddy. A small, light rider. No jumping.
Update:
Danny has colic fits if separated from Trooper.
