Blue

Blue is a 10 yr-old AQH/TB cross. He is black with a blaze and some socks, 16.1 hands.  We were told he was going to be trained as a barrel racer and was sent to a trainer who either beat him or threw him down; he has a large defect on his left hip from this.  It does not cause him lameness.  He was sent to several places/homes to be trained, including the Birmingham Police Dept, but never settled in to any.  When I adopted him, he was very green and shy.  After working with him to build up trust, he has the personality of a labrador retriever.  He was very nervous in a ring (did ok on a trot; was scared and unbalanced on a canter) and would freak out when lunged on a line, but was fabulous on trails. 

Both are easy keepers on pasture boarding; they are in New Jersey now.  They come when called and stand well for the farrier.  Blue is now barefoot.  Spooky wears shoes on the front.  They do not cross-tie -- only because we never really needed to tie them.  They are very attached to each other.  Since they have had so long off of work, I am considering both unbroken.  They are suitable as "pasture ornaments" or for someone with experience who is looking for a project.
