Trailing of three trucks from the US border to the horse
slaughter plant in Jerez, Mexico
The Animalsʼ Angels inspectors follow three trucks loaded with
horses from the U.S. boarder all the way to the horse slaughter
plant in Jerez, 650 miles away. Two of the trucks have double
deck trailers, but the horses are only loaded onto one deck. The
third truck has loaded 36 horses onto an open trailer, offering
the animals no protection from the elements. The takes the three
trucks more than 20 hours to arrive at the plant. One can only
imagine the toll this transport takes on the animals, which
likely already spent the last week on several different
trailers, being transported from states like Ohio or Indiana to
the export pens in Texas.

These guys literally follow the
trucks and film the nightmares.

Meet Smoky, above, he was RESCUED from a RESCUE.
People DO NOT do their due diligence evidently. He is now
at Have a Heart Horse Rescue in Mississippi. They are a
pending 501c3 and Sheila seriously has her hands FULL with
horses just like Smoky. Help them if you can!

Columbia
Basin Equine Rescue :

working right at the forefront, these guys do quick photos and
evaluations of the horses as the slaughter truck rolls toward
them to load up. 31 of our beloved rescued horses were
saved from this feedlot because of the exposure the gang at
Columbia Basin gave them. Update
July 2009 CBER has dissolved their 501c3 status and operations
have changed. No one can imagine the emotional and
physical stress involved in horse rescue unless you have walked
these miles yourself. The "arm chair" warriors who sit on their
collective asses in front of their computers derive great
pleasure in creating undue hardship on people who are doing what
they never COULD or WOULD. Thank you Samantha for SAVING
MORE HORSES THAN ALL THE NATION'S RESCUES PUT TOGETHER ever
saved.

guys have a unique location and they are able to house broker
(kill buyer) owned horses on transit between auction and
slaughter. We have rescued close to 20 through them.
